This is Lesson Twenty Six of the Simple & Calm course. Today’s lesson is all about how to switch from buying and receiving more things, to experiences instead. This course is for paid subscribers only, but if you’d like to enrol and get immediate access to this lesson, and all previous lessons, then you can upgrade your subscription by clicking the button below. I’d love to help you live a simpler and calmer life.

I think the perfect way to end the ‘Home Life & possessions’ module is to talk about experiences, not things. We’ve all heard it before, but it’s important now more than ever, especially because as a nation we’re drowning in ‘stuff’.

It’s easy for me to say though, as a minimalist. I don’t crave more ‘stuff’ in my home. In fact, the opposite is true. I’m constantly reevaluating my belongings to see if I need them.

Because I live a simple and calm life, I’ve grown to understand that my money is better spent on experiences, rather than things. I’m grateful for the things that I do have in my life, and I know that I don’t need more. They won’t add to my happiness, in fact, they’re more likely to add to my stress because I’ll be hoarding clutter, and, more than likely, it’ll be clutter I can’t afford.

I know that less is more, and I can now switch my attention to other things that bring me joy; making memories with my family. I’m sure you’d agree that those memories are priceless.

As you work through the last few lessons of the module, your home and your belongings should be neat, tidy, and in their own place. I’ll link to the entire module for you to reference again if you need it:

Module 5: Home Life & Possessions

So what happens after you’ve decluttered your home, your wardrobe and your life? What do you focus on next? Well, this is where the magic happens.
