Hello wonderful Substack subscribers!
I’m back from my brief hiatus whilst I recovered from being unwell. Thank you for your lovely, thoughtful messages of concern and well wishes. I’m much better now and ready to get back to writing.
I turned 30 whilst poorly which I’m quite annoyed about. I was really looking forward to enjoying the day with my family, instead of nursing a high fever. My husband and children brought breakfast in bed and I managed to sit up and open my cards and presents before spending the rest of the day asleep, only waking to take antibiotics. I think I need a do-over. A 30th birthday 2.0, or is that being indulgent?
While I’m here, let me update you on what’s to come:
Simple & Calm Interview Series
The Simple & Calm Interview Series kicks off this Sunday (30th July) at 08:00! I am SO excited to share this series with you. I only announced the series on Notes, and I’ve been blown away by how many replies I’ve had. The responses I’ve had are incredible, and they deserve to be shared far and wide.
If you’d like to take part in the Interview Series, you are more than welcome to! The Series will be an ongoing segment of my Substack (as long as there’s responses to share), so you’re always more than welcome to take part.
All you need to do is email me at simpleandcalm@substack.com and I’ll send you more information. Participants of the Interview Series will also receive one months complimentary paid subscription to Simple & Calm as a thank you.
The series will run every Sunday over the summer holidays, and then it’ll switch to monthly.
Summer plans
My older children have started their summer holidays from school, and so I’ve been thinking about how I’m going to show up here on Substack over the summer.
My usual content plan is:
Wednesday - paid post
Sunday - free post
The plan for the summer will be as follows:
Wednesday - paid post
Sunday - The Simple & Calm Interview series (free for everyone)
I have written and scheduled the Interview Series posts for the summer, so this means I’ll only need to write one post for the next 6 weeks.
How are you taking time off during the summer break?
Virtual Assistant Services
As you may know, before I went on maternity leave I worked as a Virtual Assistant. I spoke about how I lost my job whilst on maternity leave and I was worried about my financial future. You can view that post here:
So, I’ve put on my big girl pants and gotten serious about finding work ready for when my maternity leave finishes at the end of the summer. I’ve been busy creating a Substack all about my services so that potential clients can subscribe and be the first to know my availability as well as my services.
If you are looking for help in your creative business, please reach out to me, I’d love to help free up your time and reduce your overwhelming workload. You can view that Substack (and potentially subscribe?) here:
I think that’s everything for now. My paid posts will resume on Wednesday 2nd August which gives me time to finish my course of antibiotics, and adjust to having the children home with me.
I hope you’re all well? What have I missed? What posts do I NEED to catch up on? Let me know, and leave a link in the comments.
Welcome back! 💜
So glad to hear you are better Sophie! But I'm sorry your birthday celebrations were not what you were hoping for, I would definitely have a little belated celebration 🎉Happy birthday from me and welcome to the thirties club 🥳
