Pinterest for Business Growth - A Video Tutorial + Free Pinterest PDF Checklist & a Special Offer!
How to use Pinterest as an alternative marketing tool
Many of us writers are taking a break away from the overwhelm of social media, but what happens when we still have a business that we need to market? Where do we turn? Is there even an alternative to social media to advertise our creative businesses? Well, the answer is yes. There’s Pinterest.
In case you missed my previous post with
(you can read it here), we spoke about the results that she has had from working together on her Pinterest. Claire had amazing results, and we just knew that we wanted to share this successful method of marketing with others, via a pre-recorded video tutorial.Claire and I sat down to record earlier this week, and I’m sharing that video with you here today.
In the video we chat about:
Is Pinterest worth your time and energy?
What Pinterest is
How Pinterest works
Pinterest keywords & SEO
The different types of pins
How to create pins to attract your target market
Pinterest board covers
A real life example of how I’d improve a pin
Should you aim to grow followers on Pinterest?
How to optimise your profile, your name & your bio
Should you chat and leave comments on Pinterest?
Should you create pins from scratch, or pin straight from your website/ Substack?
Will older pins hinder growth for new pins?
How to use Pinterest to grow your Substack audience
When to outsource your Pinterest management
Here’s the video:
I forgot to mention in the video about scheduling pins, so I’ll touch upon it here quickly. Like anything, the key to growth is to be consistent, and that’s the same when it comes to Pinterest. To stay consistent, you can batch create pins and schedule them to go out at regular intervals (daily, every other day, weekly etc).
You can schedule your own pins that you create via the built in scheduler tool on Pinterest, or you can use Tailwind which is a scheduling tool that can be used to schedule other people’s pins to your boards too.
Grab the PDF Pinterest checklist here:
If you’re unsure about anything in the checklist, or you have a question you’d like to ask, please feel free to ask away in the comments under this post, or email me at: sophieinglebyva@hotmail.com. If there’s anything that you’d like me to go into more detail about, I can absolutely record another tutorial for you. Claire and I would also like to invite you to share your results with us after working on your Pinterest.

Super interesting and amazing advise, thank you ladies! I'm wondering if this would work for people who post less 'actionable' advise and more abstract things like I write? I am wondering if its the right platform for me. :)
